the aqueous solution known as formalin. Soluble in water, alcohol
and ether. Formaldehyde is a gas at room temperature, usually in the
form of aqueous solution.
Uses
Formaldehyde is an important organic raw materials, mainly used in
the plastics industry (such as system phenolic resin,
urea-formaldehyde plastics - jade electric), synthetic fibers (such
as synthetic vinylon - PVF), leather industry, medicine, dyes, etc.
. Formalin has bactericidal and anti-corrosion ability of biological
specimens can be impregnated, the dilute solution (0.1-0.5%) can be
used to soaking up agriculture for disinfecting seeds.
In addition to formaldehyde can be directly used for disinfection,
sterilization, preservatives mainly used in organic synthesis,
synthetic materials, paints, rubber, pesticide and other industries,
