Silica Gel
Bags
We are one of the leading manufacturers of
Silica Gel Bags in Blue and White in India. We manufacture a wide
range of standard size Silica Gel Bags using non-indicating (white)
or indicating (blue) silica gel.
Small bags of Silica Gel are often seen in all sorts of products
that might be affected by excess moisture and condensation.
In such form Silica Gel is packed in non woven paper, cloth or as
required in different quantities as per the specific requirements.
By adding silica gel packets while packing, products can be
preserved from spoilage as it adsorbs about 40% of its weight in
moisture.
Packing : Silica Gel bags are available in the following packs :
1gm., 2gm., 5gm., 50gms., 100gms., 500gms. or as per specific
requirements.
Applications
Silica Gel is usually used in many products since moisture and
condensation encourages the growth of mold and spoilage and may
damage electronics and other things and may speed the decomposition
of chemicals, such as those in vitamin pills. By adding packets of
silica gel, these items can be preserved longer.
Main Function : Dries, avoids dampness, resists rust, fit for damp
proof of instruments, meter, weapon, cartridge, electronic
components, household apparatus, spare parts of machinery, leather,
pharmacy, food, costume, textiles and other packed goods. It can be
used as air cleanser to restrain humidity in the air, as well as
catalyzer carrier and dehydration for organic compounds as it has
high density and high moisture absorption under low humidity. It has
been used widely for ocean shipping with obvious effect to resist
dampness in order to save goods because of high humidity in the
process of ocean shipping.
Color indicator silica gel is used to dry seed for long-term
storage. It may also be used to dry flowers, certain food stuffs,
cameras, tools, shoes, clothing, historical artifacts, display
cases, and electronic instruments. It may be used to protect
valuable items from mold, mildew, rust, and corrosion.
Silica gel is also used to dry the air in industrial compressed air
systems. Air from the compressor discharge flows through a bed of
silica gel beads or crystals. The silica gel adsorbs moisture from
the air, preventing damage to the compressed air users due to
condensation or moisture. The same system is used to dry the
compressed air on railway locomotives, where condensation and ice in
the brake air pipes can lead to brake failure.
Silica gel is sometimes used as a preservation tool to control
relative humidity in museum and library exhibitions and storage.
Approximately 40 g (1.4 oz) of silica gel will absorb the moisture
from three cubic feet of air. When drying objects it is important to
keep the container size small in relation to the object being dried.
This helps insure more rapid and thorough drying.
Silica gel can be used to protect a variety of items from moisture.
The list below represents some commonly protected items:
Tool boxes, Storage containers, Safes and vaults, Firearms, Photos,
Auto components, Cargo holds on RVs, boats, etc., Collectibles
(stamps, coins, etc.), Computer and peripherals, Metal and machine
parts, Industrial equipment, Pharmaceuticals and vitamins,
Electronic goods, Defense equipments, Circuit Boards, Foodstuffs,
Batteries, Pet foods, Optical devices, Medical equipment, Leather
products, Textiles, Seeds.
